Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries is a non-denominational Christian outreach ministry that utilizes the common bonds of hunting and fishing to reach out to outdoorsmen. As we commonly say, we are “Pointing Outdoorsmen to The Cross.”

At Blast & Cast, our number one focus is reaching men who can normally be found in a fishing boat or a hunting blind on Sunday mornings. We feel that churches have the opportunity to reach their members and attendees on any given Sunday morning, but being outside of the church and inside a boat or blind presents an opportunity that the local church doesn’t have – namely, to reach those who aren’t in the pews.

To facilitate connection and outreach opportunities with outdoorsmen, we organize and host several low cost hunting and fishing events throughout the year. Rather than making invitations through churches, all of our invitations are made through, internet forums, mutual friends and word of mouth. The typical three day event includes hunting/fishing, meals and lodging as well as door prizes and an event t-shirt. Everything is done as professionally as possible and usually at a cost under $200.00 (kids under 16 and volunteers are half price). We even offer event scholarships to those who can not afford the dues, as we don’t want anyone to be excluded for financial reasons.

While these events are simple in concept, the organization and finances can become quite complex and we are heavily dependent on volunteers. Our volunteer Pro-Staff are rarely professional guides and are usually just regular outdoorsmen that donate their time, knowledge and the gear necessary to take other men (men they’ve likely never met) on a professional quality hunting/fishing trip.

The response to our outreach events has been outstanding! In fact, we very frequently find ourselves with waiting lists for open spots. We have found that men who refuse to attend a church service will eagerly attend a hunting/fishing event, even if it is overtly Christian in nature. These men usually are not anti-church or anti-Christian, they simply have many misconceptions about what it means to be a Christian man in today’s society. As fellow outdoorsmen who are able to earn their respect in the field, we are able to disprove these misconceptions and stereotypes and build relationships with men who otherwise would not be exposed to any sort of Christian environment. In turn, as they begin to see the true pattern for a Christian man, we are frequently able to encourage/direct them into church participation.
